About Algomania 3.0

Competitive Programming Focus

Algomania is an Inter-college placement oriented Competitive Programming competition designed to assess algorithmic thinking, problem-solving ability, teamwork, and adaptability through multiple competitive stages. The event consists of an online preliminary screening on March 10, followed by an offline main competition conducted using the HackerRank platform. Last date to register is March 10, 2026 by 2PM.

Team-Based Competition

Team-based competitive programming event. Top 40 teams from the preliminary round qualify for the main event. Teams are divided into 10 divisions with 4 teams each, competing through multiple cycles before the top 8 advance to finals. Advacement of teams is based on global rankings after each cycle, ensuring dynamic competition and rewarding consistent performance. It will be measured on HackerRank's global leaderboard.

Event Schedule

  • Preliminary Round (March 10, 6PM):Online via HackerRank. Top 40 teams qualify for main event.
  • Main Event (March 14):Three competitive cycles with 3 rounds each (35-40 min/round). Teams compete in divisions and are reshuffled after each cycle based on global rankings.
  • Finals:Top 8 teams compete in 4 rounds (40 min/round) with higher difficulty problems.

Evaluation Criteria

Rankings are determined based on HackerRank scoring metrics:

  • Correctness of submitted solutions
  • Time efficiency
  • Number of problems solved
  • Number of test cases passed in a problem
  • Penalty rules as defined on HackerRank
  • Compliance with contest guidelines

Code of Conduct: Maintain academic integrity. Malpractice, plagiarism, or unauthorized collaboration results in immediate disqualification.
